Wendell and Wild (2022)
In 2021 I joined the Netflix production, Wendell and Wild, as a Jr. Scenic Painter. Released October 2022, Wendell and Wild is directed by Henry Selick (Nightmare Before Christmas, Coraline) and co-written by Jordan Peele (Get Out, Us, Nope). The film stars Lyric Ross, Angela Bassett, Ving Rhames, and Keegan Michael Key and Jordan Peele as the titular characters.
Scream Faire Ferris Wheel Benches
Based on the original miniature design by Cameron Asao, I got to paint to the full size versions. I really enjoyed dirtying these up and adding various rust spots, coming up with a different story for where each stain came from.
Ice Flow in front of Brewery ruins
One of my favorite projects was developing the look of, and making the ice for the winter river shot in front of the burned out brewery. Here are some process images of the ice before breaking it up, as well as the finished product. Each piece was scuffed up with three different grits of sand paper to achieve the proper foggy patina. Set dressed by Sarah Wells.
Old Guard Houses and Hedges
Each member of the scenic crew got to paint their own house for the members of the Old Guard in Rust Bank. These can be seen in several scenes in the film, coupled with some of the hedges I fabricated.
Raul's Mural
Henry Selick was adamant that as much be done practically as possible. Thus, Raul's mural was hand painted by all the scenic painters on a series of miniature houses.
Other Bits and Bobs
Doordash - Tribeca Film Festival (2022)
Another fun project at House Special, this was a Doordash pre-roll for the Tribeca film festival. I painted a number of buildings and sidewalks for this one, adding bricks, texture, and grime whenever possible.
Airbnb "Aircover" (2022)
Produced by House Special, I worked as a Scenic Painter on this Airbnb spot highlighting their new insurance feature, Aircover. As part of a bigger team I primarily worked on the brownstone and pool house buildings, but I had a hand in painting small pieces from all the miniature sets. Kudos to the model builders, landscapers, and set dressers that made everything come together and look so beautiful on this one.
The Well in the Woods
In 2019 I co-created a stop motion short entitle The Well in the Woods. I designed and built all the props, sets, and puppets for the film, and share story and directing credits with my collaborator, Ijah Garfield.

Nowhere's Wolf: A Call Not Answered
In 2019 and 2020 I helped build and dress sets, and create scenic fabrication for this film by Suzanne Moulton that chronicles the story of OR-7, a wolf making it's way through Oregon, searching for a mate.
Bean (2022)
Assisted Suzanne Moulton as Jr. Puppet Builder for this film directed by Merve Dobai, and co-produced by the national broadcaster of Turkey.
